Cloisters Lake Swims Guide
Cloisters is ~7.5 acres featuring an island at the narrow end and averages around 6ft deep.
There is a stalking swim at the island end past peg 4. Peg 8 is closed.
Note distances shown are approximate and are not swim boundary markers
On the left hand side of this swim are reeds running along the dam wall with depth averaging 5ft but up to 7ft
On the right hand side there are two small plateaus about 4 rod lengths out
The average depth of this swim is 5ft
Features include a few gravel patches and a cloverleaf shaped hole to the right hand side about a quarter of the way across the lake, with marginal reeds to the left and right of the swim
The average depth of this swim is 4.5-5ft, with a cloverleaf shaped hole to the left hand side about a quarter of the way across the lake
It is possible to fish to the tip of the main island from this swim and there is a deeper hole this side of the island up the channel
The bottom of this swim is hard clay with some silt patches with a few gravel patches
On the left hand side of this swim you can fish the deeper hole in the channel
Directly in front you have the tip of the island or the Norfolk reed
On the right hand side you can fish the channel that goes through the island, also you can fish down towards the end of the island which is where the main water supply enters
Swim five is a very secluded swim
To the left hand side you can fish towards the end of the island but not past it, this corner being slightly deeper up to about 5ft
There are over hanging trees from the island and the swim has a hard clay bottom
Directly in front is a channel cutting threw the island, with half way across a deeper channel running through the middle of the swim approx 20ft down past the right hand side of the swim
Right hand margin of this swim there are marginal reeds around the island
The right hand bank cuts back which is also a good spot to fish from. For best results use 2 rods only
Here we have a swim for those who like close in fishing. The bottom is hard clay with depths ranging from 3-5ft
It is possible to fish to the small island and the tip of the main lake
Don’t forget to fish the margins!

To the left of the swim is a cloverleaf shaped hole about threequarters of the way across the lake and to the right hand side open water and the stream bed about 2 rods lengths out
To the left of this swim about 3 rod lengths out there is a deep gully to about 6ft
Featuring hard areas in front of it, two large plateaus about 25 and 35yds out run right across this swim
It is also possible to bait boat to the dam wall reeds
Average depth of around 5ft with some deeper areas around 7-8ft
The right hand margin is reed lined with far right hand corner featuring the water outlet
This swim does have some snags on the bottom so must be fished without back leads and keep the rod tips higher than usual
Fishing only permitted between dawn and dusk and no bivvys allowed
From here it is possible to fish both the inlet channels and the slightly deeper area which is up to 4.5ft
